Language proficiency is extremely important for migrant communities. Better language proficiency means easier assimilation in the host country and greater job opportunities and job matches. In addition, language skills influence engagement with local culture, social inclusion and confidence, social integration, social network, political participation and civic engagement, as well as educational attainment, health outcomes and family life.

At ESA Scotland, we offer the chance for you to practice your English with a culturally sensitive trained native English speaker who is keen to help you practice comfortably. ESA Scotland’s’ English practice sessions are aimed at relieving social isolation and intended to increase English oral and literacy confidence amongst our service users.
